
Now in its 28th year, the FPCBP Scholarship Program is again going to be recognizing the efforts of students who have achieved academic distinction while pursuing their studies. In order for students to qualify, it is imperative that they apply before the deadline. Please note that all applications and official transcripts must be received on or before November 27th, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. The Federation GALA dinner this year to present the scholarship awards to the winners will take place on Saturday, February 06, 2010 at the Pearson Convention Centre.

Open to all applicants. Please respond to the following question in 300-400 words (maximum) or less typed and double spaced: "How have you demonstrated leadership?"
(__) Scotiabank Community Involvement Award in Honour of Teresa Melo
Open to all applicants. Intended to honour a ?well rounded student? who demonstrates the ability to achieve strong academic results while exhibiting a passion for community involvement. A maximum of three letters of reference will be accepted evidencing community involvement.
(__) RBC Dexia FPCBP International Internship Award
Summer 2010 internship in one or more of RBC Dexia?s European offices (London, Paris, Luxembourg or Dublin). $2000 scholarship at the end of the successful completion of internship.
Applicants should be enrolled in at minimum a 3rd or 4rth year university Commerce or Finance program/major with an interest in International Business. Post-Graduate Commerce or Finance students and MBA students are also encouraged to apply.

(b) am enrolled full time in a program at a Canadian academic institution located in
Canada which I have identified above;
(c) was born in Portugal OR at least one of my parents is of Portuguese origin;
(d) acknowledge that the Scholarship Selection Committee is relying upon the
information provided herein and should this information be found to be incorrect or misleading, it will result in my disqualification as an applicant. Furthermore, if a scholarship is awarded and it is later determined that this application contained false information, I will be required to return the award;
(e) state that I have complied with all of the outlined provisions in this application.
(f) I also confirm that I understand the following:
- No applicant will be entitled to receive a FPCBP Scholarship in the
Undergraduate category more than once.
- An applicant may only receive a FPCBP Scholarship in the category as a
Graduate student more than once for different degrees (i.e.. MA., PHD., LL.B.,
M.D.)
- An applicant must achieve at least a ?B? average during the course of their last
completed semester to qualify, or in the case of Secondary School applicants,
during their last completed academic year in order to be considered.

PLEASE NOTE:

3? All winners will be asked to volunteer 10-15 hours to the Federation in the Calendar year following their award. This contribution can be fulfilled via long distance (volunteer opportunities will be discussed with successful applicants)
4--The FPCBP may choose to publish the academic grades of the selected winners.
