Some universities have more than one union, particularly if the school is big enough to have both graduates and undergraduates.
The union is comprised by a group of students, elected by the student body, to represent them on matters of school policy and campus issues. They also provide a range of campus service to the students.
Advocacy is one of the most important service a student?s union can provide. The union acts on behalf of the student on matters such as academic appeals, discipline, residential tenancy issues, library fine appeals, and many others.
