No matter where you are, you cant skip Christmas. But this is not just a season for Catholics to celebrate. Many other religions celebrate special religious events throughout this winter season.

Some of these celebrations are more familiar than others - Christmas Day in the Christian calendar (25 December) and Hanukkah in the Jewish calendar en December. But there are also days in December that are important to members of different faiths. Buddhists mark Bodhi Day, as the Feast of the Immaculate Conception is observed by Roman Catholics.

The Islamic New Year is celebrated by the Muslim community and the Winter Solstice, is an important date for the Pagan community.
